This was my first large piece completed. I saw the canvas and knew it needed to be filled.

I call this painting ”Mood” because that’s what it is. She is confident, content, at peace, powerful, elegant and above all else, she is gorgeous.  We all know this feeling when everything is going right and we are where we are supposed to be. I wanted to capture that. Because she is in black and white, I needed to add some color or else her hands and hair would be lost and there would be “something missing”. Her braids and butterflies were my solutions. 

The most difficult part was creating the proper shape and shading of her earring. Overall this is one of my favorite and most proud pieces.
