Lone Tree was one of my first landscape paintings. It was inspired by a well know tree in New Zealand, but it also has traits of where I grew up.
This painting was created after a Bob Ross marathon, and I believe the mountains in the background are evidence of that. However, that is about the only technique used from the master. This painting was not meant to be realistic but an abstract and experimental piece with color selection and approach.
I still enjoy the way the blue, purple, white and black look on the lake. This piece will teleport you whenever you come across it, wherever it may be.
