This work was created using the parameters of “compliments” regarding color theory. Every color has their complementary color on the color wheel. Compliments are used to soften when mixed, but too much and you will end up with brown. They are used to amplify the other when placed or used correctly.

The parameters of this work was to paint the portrait of the model using a complimentary triad, a shade of yellow, purple and blue/green. The background is the blue/green color, what would be highlights are in the yellow, and the purple is used for the darker tones.

She was a pleasure to work on and I think my goal was met. Not just the use of the triad, but she is gorgeous as well.
