About Me

Artist Statement

I want my work to feel like déjà vu, a reminder that we have been here before—even if not in this exact place, but that we know the feeling. The moments I capture are meant to stop us in our tracks, to spark awe, nostalgia, and recognition. They are fragments of emotional memories, distilled into color and form, designed to evoke a sigh, a pause, a visceral recall of something deeply human. My art invites the viewer to fill in the blanks, to bring their own memories and experiences into the space. It is a continuous journey of memory, feeling, and reaction—an exploration of how art can remind us of where we’ve been, and how it can make us feel that we are there once again

Bio

I was born in a mountain town in Northern New Mexico and did not know how much there was to see and learn until way too late in life.

My art journey started when I was young. My parents always encouraged our creativity, and the best days ever were when I would get a new sketch book, box of crayons or new drawing pencils.

I began painting in 2014 after being inspired by so many talented past, present, near, and far artists that left me in awe and with feelings of must have.

My style uses long brush strokes to emphasize shape and form, along with vibrant color to help frame the subject. I’m always learning and my “style” is always evolving. I hope it never stays the same.

My art is inspired by real life, day dreams, new music, good sleep, travel and over exaggerated fire line stories. I am a full-time Wildland Firefighter’s Fighter for the US Forest Service where I work in all regions of the United States and travel abroad as an instructor.

Sharing work is so personal but art is meant to be seen. I hope my work stops you for a second look,  inspires a feeling of awe, or stirs a must have feeling.
