There have been countless hours of working into, through or during the night for all of us in fire. That’s why this piece is called Night Line. That’s what it is, cutting line at night.
The background is always hidden behind the smoke and of the flames at night. The firefighter’s headlamp is doing a great job of modeling how much of a hindrance the light can be with all of the smoke. Often it is not as apparent until light up to see what we are doing. With headlamps on, there really is nothing else visible outside of the light, and worse with thick smoke.
I really enjoy the detail and highlights on the firefighter, along with the embers being pushed around.
