Feelings of the southwest reflecting against a grey-scale figure. With her new “perspective” laying down, the challenge for me was to paint a meaningful landscape, using the limited space available.

It had to be deep, vast, rugged and beautiful. It’s the time of year when the Yucca is in full bloom. We can feel the heat from the sand even as the sky begins to silhouette the landscape. This could be a memory, where she’s at, or lenses which she views the world. This piece is calming and beautiful to admire.
